Dear WCCA members and friends,
As you may know, southwest China was hit by a powerful
Earthquake (May 12) which caused more than 40,000 death
as of May 20, 2008 and tens of thousands
more missing including many school students. (Please
check cnn.com for details.) Millions of people's lives
were adversely affected by the quake. They need help.
I know some of our members have taken actions to help
those people in the epicenter while most of us are
still trying to figure out how to help. After
consulting our board members, I have directed our
treasurer Anna Ho to use our non-profit status to accept
donations from our members and their friends. We will
transfer all donations to the Chinese or America Red Cross
with a single check. You donations will be tax deductible
and the full amount will go to the epicenter.
Anna and I will be in the cafeteria area on Saturday, May 31.
Please stop by and show your support. Or you can bring your
check to our year-end picnic and all parent meeting
on the same day after class at Huntington Beach. You can
also send your donations to our mailing address at the bottom
if you can’t come to our school or picnic.
Please check with your company to see if they match
your donation.
